Meeting in open air at Saltley…a group of soldiers in khaki formed part of the audience, and one of them persisted in interrupting towards the end of my address. I told him that we would not be bullied by soldiers and the audience cheered me, but the fellow’s offensiveness rather spoiled the meeting.
